On May 31 and June 1, 2014, we’ll be making history all over again at ITT Tech Tampa ( 4809 Memorial Hwy, Tampa, FL 33634 ). For the second time, the National Day of Civic Hacking will unite technologists, entrepreneurs, developers and other citizens in using open data to improve communities and the governments that serve them.
This year we’ve got support from Hillsborough County, and they’ve offered up some amazing transportation data. You’re welcome to work on whatever you like (as always), but we think you’ll like the transportation challenges being put up by the County.
Oh, and the grand prize this year? A meet and greet and television interview with County Commissioner Mark Sharpe! If you wanted the local government to take notice of your project, you can’t ask for too much more than that. Well, I guess a cash prize wouldn’t be such a bad thing either, eh? Good thing we have those too.
